‘Fish Never Sleep’
http://www.bbc.co.uk/filmnetwork/films/p005c8hd
Fish Never Sleep by Gaelle Denis, which is a very fantastic animation. I watched this animation in class today. The author narrated a story about a woman who work in a sushi shop, could not to fall in sleep at night. One night, she just realized that fish is also not sleep, but she can not understood why. During the mid-night, she rode her motorcycle on the street, then the accident happened, she was failing in the lake. The following day, she caught by fish man and killed by people. She finally slept and understood that fish not sleep was because they would be caught by human being if they sleep. The whole animation is in the first person. The audience would see the process of how the fish is caught and killed by human, though the video.
This animation is developed by drawing and inking. There is only blake, white red and a few blue and green in it, the author just use some sample and rough lines to describe every motion. The sample colour and rough lines gives me a very special feeling. I feel repressed and a little bit scared when i watched this animation. Although there is not too many details in each fram, the motion is very specific. Some times the fram is full and crowed and some times there is a lot of white space. The space contrast also gives audiences a pretty strong emotion effect. In addition, the painting technique is this animation is extremely strange. It is a kind of surrealism technique which increase the emotion and main theme of the video. All the techniques that the author used in this animation are significative. They successfully help Gaelle to explain the main idea of her animation. Even though, the motion is not smooth and the graphic is not nice in this video, it gives a huge influence to the audience. People probably will not praise the quality of the fram, but they will never forget it and star to think about it for sure.
After watched this animation, I learned that how to make the technique related with the theme of the animation and realized that the quality of the animation is not the most important thing. I was focus too much on the quality of the fram in the past time when i worked on my own animation. However, I often ignored the meaning of my work. In fact, the idea is more important than the skill. In the future, i should spend more time to think about the deep meaning of my project, and consider how the techniques that I knew may help to support that. More over, I know that when I do my interview animation, I can play the audio and then show the animation that related with the audio or show the animation first and play the audio later which is better than always play the audio and show the animation that related to the audio that the same time. Lastly, colour contrast is very important for describe the meaning of animation.
'Peugeot - Paperwork'
http://fstoppers.com/bts-6878-hours-to-make-one-awesome-30-second-ad
-This project is all create by hand, out of nothing but paper.
-This is a Peugeot ad that created by British production company 'Blink', with direction by Joseph Mann, worked with a team of paper artists.
-There are 43 people who cost 6878 hours to work on this amazing project.
-they are using a Canon 5D Mark ll to shoot stills, on some kind of motion controlled rig.
-they put a small battery into the car to make the lights work.
Here is the video that give more details about how to make it.
Perspective:
It is a very amazing animation project. I can not believe that everything in this project was created by hand. Even though the animation is short, it is fantastic. The audiences are able to see all the specific details of every items in the animation. All the frames in it are thinkable and smooth. The colour is vivid, and the idea is awesome.
Reflection:
-Three useful or interesting idea:
1) The authors use paper to create everything in this animation, which is a very brave and creative idea.
2) The transitions in the animation is very smooth, the author use the moving item which is at old frame to cover the screen and then goes to the new frame.
3) The author make everything very clean and sample. The color in the animation is very well using.
-Three direct application to myself:
1) Animation is always amazing but crazy. In order to achieve the perfect project, People alway send lots of time and pay huge painstaking care on it
2) Sample and Clean are two important rules for art project. I should always follow those two rules in I do my project.
3) Sometimes, short are more effective. Thirteen second is good enough to influence the mind of audiences.
Question: What kind of technique is used in this animation? I prefer the stop motion, but how to make the first frame by stop motion? (paper fly and change shape to be a car automatically.)
‘Shine’
-This project is all created by clay.
-This is an animation assignment that created by Jennifer Li and Wid Naima whose are the multimedia students at Mcmaster University.
-This project used the stop motion technique.
-It was a portrait of Kirina Kisson, in the animation, Kirinia told share her personal story with audiences.

Perspective:
It is a fantastic animation project. I believe that producers really took care and sent a lot of time on this project. The idea of combine the clay and stop motion to create the animation is awesome. I really love the color that use in this animation, especially for the last part (when the butterfly came out). Overall, the animation is pretty smooth, and the producers did very well on the trasformation parts.

-Three direct application to myself:
1) It is a good idea to keep a short animation project just in one frame, and make strong connections between each part of the story. That will be very powerful for the trasformation of the animation.
2) Any items or objects can be used to create an animation. I have to always open my mind, and be creative for my project in the future.
3) Sample and Clean are two important rules for art project. I should always follow those two rules in I do my project.
Question:Why the produces did not use the full screen, but create a black border purposely?

Easy Way Out
This was a Stop Motion Animation directed by Darcy Prendergast. The author aslo used the paper cut, 3d effect and other technique for this amazing project. There were five different senses in this animation, each sense represented an individual place. Overall, this was a vivid animation with interesting theme.
Perspective:
It is a fantastic and interesting animation project. There were a lot of works, for the content was very complex. I really like the five different senses in this animation, because they made the animation more interesting and creative. I love the way that how the animation showed the story.
Reflection:
-Three useful or interesting idea:
1) The author used five different sense in the animation, which was a very useful and interesting to watch.
2) The transitions in the animation was very smooth, although there were five sense, it looked like everything happend in one place. (a big circle)
3) The color contrast in the animation was very well using.
-Three direct application to myself:
1) The transformation in this animation is amazing and very useful. I should think about it in my project in the future.
2) The background of an animation is also very important, I should take care on the background and have some movement on it rather than just focus on the main characters.
3) The content of an animation project should be very compact and easy to understand. The frame can be either very complex or very sample, but never delay or lag (always smooth and continuous)
Question: 1)For this animation, was there just one frame (sense) or there were five different place and author combined them together which looked like just one sense? 2) How the producer made the animation of the black cat?
